Digitalization of Education in Papua, To Improve Human Resources

President Joko Widodo has just inaugurated the operation of the Palapa Ring network. The inauguration event was held at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (10/14/2019). Officially operating the sky toll infrastructure has become a new milestone in this nation since it was discussed more than a decade ago.
.
Papua as part of Indonesia also feels the benefits. "The existence of that infrastructure has clearly increased the speed of service to the community. Since August 2019, the internet provided by the government has also been enjoyed in schools and health centers in the area, "said Asmat Regent of Papua Province Elisa Kambu.

.
Along with this, the Ministry of Education and Culture again presented the digitization of schools in Papua Province. Through the digitization of schools, the government wants to improve the competitiveness of students in Papua so that they are not inferior to other regions.
.
Through the school digitization program, students in the Papua area can compete with students in any area in Indonesia.
.
The school digitization program in Papua Province began in Wamena District as a trial location. The Ministry of Education and Culture sends instructors to train teachers in Papua on how to learn to use the gadget.
.
Education services must not be stopped in the midst of conflict situations in Wamena and Nduga so that the rights of Papuan children to educational services are still fulfilled for their future. For this reason, the Minister of Education and Culture has coordinated with the Armed Forces Commander and National Police Chief to ensure the safety and security of teachers, education personnel and students in conflict areas in Papua.
.
On the Minister of Education's working visit to Papua also witnessed the acceleration of the disbursement of the benefits of the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) to 87 elementary students, 423 junior high students, 20 high school students, and 500 vocational students. Class X students of SMK YSO Ninabua, Wamena, Yoel Gombo said, would use PIP funds to help their parents' cattle businesses so that with their efforts they could continue their education to a higher level.
.
"So to be able to go to college, the money comes from livestock business, from the assistance of the Minister," he said. Yoel hopes that the disbursement of PIP funds received from the center will run smoothly. "We want, we can go to school well, so with the help of the government we can go to school, both Papuan and non-Papuan children too, for the future of Papua and the country," he said.
