Returning to the Republic of Indonesia, Former OPM Members were given as Satpol PP officers to Nurses

There have been 458 former members of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) who have declared themselves to return to the Republic of Indonesia and are empowered through a variety of jobs.
.
As expressed by the Regent of Puncak Jaya, Yuni Wonda, who claimed that there were already hundreds of former OPMs who now had a better life because they had gotten permanent jobs. "There are already hundreds of ex-OPM members who have been employed as members of Satpol PP, honorary employees, ASNs, and nurses," said Yuni, through a release on Wednesday (06/12/2019).
.
He revealed, the main reason for former OPM members to return to the Republic of Indonesia was due to welfare. During this time, explained Yuni, they lived in the forest because they avoided being chased by the authorities. But, on the other hand, they also pay attention to the development development in the community.
.
A similar sentiment was also conveyed by Kapendam XVII Cenderawasih, Col. Inf Muhammad Aidi regarding the reasons for Telangga Gire, former Goliath Tabuni adjutant, OPM Leader in Puncak Jaya, returned to NKRI.
.
"We only eat petatas every day and the taro take from the people's gardens, while the development in the villages and cities is getting more advanced and the people are living prosperously," said Aidi, delivering Telangga Gire's words.
.
According to him, Telangga, who has 13 children from four wives, wants to work well and send all his children to school so that he can have a better life later. Aidi claims, Telangga will also appeal to his former colleagues who are still in the forest to immediately follow in his footsteps so they can have a normal life.
.
After expressing loyalty to the Republic of Indonesia, Gire explained that he felt affected by Goliath Tabuni.
.
"We have suffered for years in the forest, overheating, cold, rain, starvation and so on. Every day we only eat petatas and taro take from residents' gardens, while development in villages and cities is more advanced and people live prosperous, "said Gire. For this reason, Telangga and three colleagues decided to leave the KKB and join the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.
