KKB surrounds Kenyam Airport Attacking Brimob Members

The brutal action of an armed criminal group or the Papuan KKB led by Egianus Kogoya re-occurred. The West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Movement (TPNPB-OPM) has admitted to be the mastermind behind the shooting of police officers at the Kenyam Airport security post, Nduga Regency, Papua on Saturday (11/1) morning.

For the attack, TPNPB-OPM spokesman Sebby Sambom even claimed that the attack led by Egianus Kogoya had shot two Brimob members. In addition, several shots were called targeting the security posts of Brimob members.

"The management of the TPNPB-OPM Komnas headquarters received a direct call from the Commander of Kodap III Ndugama, Brigadier General Egianus Kogoya that at 6:45 a.m. Ndugama, troops led by Egianus Kogoya carried out an attack at Kenyam Airport," Sebby said in a written statement.

Sebby said that attacks on the government security apparatus would continue to be carried out to reclaim West Papua's independence. Egianus Kogoya expressed similar through written statements. He claims since December 1, 2019 until now his troops have surrounded the Kenyam Airport area.

"We have started the war and the troops of the national liberation army of West Papua are still doing resistance in Kenyam, the capital of Nduga Regency, Papua Province. We will not be afraid of air strikes by the colonial government security forces of the Republic of Indonesia. We will continue to resist," Egianus Kogoya.
