OPM Doctrine and Threat Makes Papuans Think Narrow

OPM Doctrine and Threat Makes Papuans Think Narrow

So far the central government has given special attention to Papua. The central government's form of attention was applied by granting privileges to the Provinces of Papua and West Papua through the Special Autonomy Law No. 21 of 2001.

The policy to develop Papua was fully handed over to the Provincial Government accompanied by Special Autonomy funds from the Central Government. In addition to the special autonomy funds obtained by the Papua Province, the Central Government also provides funds for the construction of national scale infrastructure such as Provincial Roads, Railways, Bridges, so that the progress of the Papua Province can develop quickly.

With the special autonomy law, it is expected to improve the economy and welfare of the people. This is a form of special attention from the central government to develop in Papua.

But what the armed criminal groups are doing, they are shooting at civilian workers and hampering the construction. The West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) claimed responsibility for the shooting. The presence of armed groups in Papua has severely hampered development.

Not only that, the incitement of the TPNPB-OPM also greatly influenced the cyclological development of the Papuan people. How will the Papuan people progress, if they continue to get negative doctrine from the OPM. The conclusion is that it was not the government that was slow and failed to develop Papua, it was the incitement and terror of the OPM that made the Papuan people pessimistic and narrow-minded.
