KKB Makes Problems At Freeport Again

Armed criminal groups (KKB) in Papua are increasingly violent, after two days ago they attacked Brimob members in Kenyam, Nduga, now they are attacking the PT Freeport Indonesia employee bus group on Monday morning. Luckily there were no casualties in the incident.

The PT Freeport Indonesia employee bus group was shot by an unknown person suspected of being a KKB on Monday (1/13/2020). At that time, a group of Freeport employee buses were moving from the city of Tembagapura mile 68 to the Gorong-gorong terminal, Timika City, Mimika, Papua.

When at mile 53, the bus group was fired from under the tower. Two buses were hit by three shots on the left side of the glass, namely buses with the numbers 140487 and 140419. Luckily there were no fatalities from the incident, because the shot only hit the left side of the bus.

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw said there were no fatalities in the incident. After the incident, the Regional Police Chief with Mimika AKBP Police Chief I Gusti Gde Era Adhinata. And the team immediately went to the scene to check the latest conditions.

"I'm with the police chief with the team, we want to go up, check the crime scene," Paulus said.

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw said the KKB led by Egianus Kogoya was most responsible for a series of shootings in Nduga, Papua. According to Paulus, Egianus Kogoya was a young man who seized weapons from the security forces. Egianus often turned people into shields, after shooting them they ran to the forest.
