Papua is Indonesia's largest province located in the central part of the island of Papua. Papua has the most complete natural resources. The natural wealth in the forests of Papua provides great benefits for the people of Papua. One of them is bark or tree fiber which is used as the basic material for making noken.

Noken is a typical multipurpose bag in the form of a net and is used by Papuans to carry goods. Noken itself has been embedded in the culture of the Papuan people since ancient times. Noken is formed by a weaving or knitting system.
